"We live in deeds and not in years."
In today's, fast paced and ever changing society, the simple common everyday values are quickly fading from our younger generation. Values make our lives regulated. They add a meaning to our life, like the dams regulate the flow of river water and use them to benefit others. A food for thought to all the young generation and future of our nation, Have the question ever occurred to you what are the core values and basic principles of your life? If you don't have the answer yet, then do take a few minutes break from the busy schedule and think about it.
This is a mirror to entire society we belong to. Be honest to yourself.
Life is not the other name of breathing. It is the quality of life which is of consequence and not the number of years lived. In this lies the main difference between the life of a man and that of an animal. Man has to bother for his spiritual and moral side. A man would prefer death with honor, than a life devoid of it. The flower of lily has a lot to teach us, it blooms in the morning and fades away in the evening, but it gives us fragrance and sweetness through out the day. If a man is mean, wicked and vicious we do not give him any credit for the years he has lived. Shakespeare the great English dramatist rightly remarked that a life spent worthily should be measured by deed not years.
"Simply existing is no life."
Now, the question arises what should be our deeds? Well your deeds are always according to your values. Values are the most essential part of any human being. Some basic moral values that are taught to all of us from the very childhood are respect, obedience, politeness, responsibility, humility, good manners, friendliness and honesty. With a little respect under our hat, our life goes much smoothly. Obedience is something which doesn't come naturally, for any of us. It seems more 'fun' to want to break the rules. Its a basic human nature to do or try those things which they are instructed not to do. But the moral values present within us grooms us and directs our lives in the right way. It teaches us obedience and this ensures that we do not break any rule which would harm someone.
Simple words like "Please" and "Thank you" are also a part of our values. These shows the politeness within us. But without these minimum courtesies one can never sustain in this society.
"Sugar attracts more flies than vinegar."
Humility is another value in human life. This sounds a little strange, but humility is an important aspect of life, that we often overlook. It is essential because we should learn to say "Sorry" for acting up or doing something we shouldn't have.
Sacrifice, humor, forgiveness are some of the other values one should posses to lead a happy and prosperous life. A person who is loved by all has surely made many sacrifices to give priority to other's happiness.
The society we are living in, is becoming self centered, gradually with the passing phase of time. Yes, it might sound offending but we all know deep down our heart that it is the harsh truth. The life in the concrete jungle has detached one another by the walls of our flat. Everyone is busy with their work and their problem that they do not know what is going on inside the next door.
In fact, if you find a person with compassion, selflessness and good values, which has become rare to find, he is seldom suspected and refused to be accepted the way he is by the society. The fear of being cheated has made roots so deep inside our heart that we can not easily accept a person as a pure and compassionate soul. Did you ever raise a question to yourself, why?

The younger generation which is the future, should be fed with good habits and should be guided in the path of compassion where they can feel the pain of others by seeing them in pain. We, being responsible generation, should learn to accept pure soul as they are and not doubt every individual we come across. When meeting a person the first question to pop in your head should be, "How can I help this person?", rather being "What this person wants from me?". Maybe then our human race will have a future where humanity will be seen in humans not only in Animals.
Why is this needed now?
Now, being a difficult time for many families in slums or villages with their daily wages cut down, many eyes are losing their glitter. We can do something, maybe very little but something from our part to keep the glittery eyes shining like a star. Sharing one eighth of your bread is even more than enough to prevent a family's death by hunger. Now where to help and how to help is up to you to choose. Find a way to LEND THEM YOUR HAND.
I really appreciate it
