"A healthy lifestyle is the key to healthy living."
In this unforeseen situation of the Pandemic, where one and all are affected equally by social distancing (except for the frontier workers, our doctors soldiers and police), we need to maintain a healthy lifestyle so that we can stay fit. Don't get a image of "six pack abs" or a "Zero figure" by the term FIT. Staying fit means staying healthy where your body is active and brains functions well. As of today it is very important to be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy to survive the Pandemic. Below are 10 ways which you can practice in your day to day life to increase your stability.
1. Plan a routine:
Make a routine for the entire day and stick to it. Having a structured day makes your mind more stable. For example, follow the usual timeline to wake up and go to bed, as you would have followed in a normal working day. In weekends take a break to do something different as you would have done in the normal circumstances.
2. Maintain a proper diet:
Our body is made by "80% diet and 20% exercise" . The healthier you eat the healthier you become. Your breakfast is the main meal of your day. Eat a healthy breakfast. You can include cereals, oats or bread and omelette or Milk and fruits in your breakfast. You can include all the nutrients into a balanced diet of Lunch. Add up rice or Chapati with one vegetable curry or Paneer. Paneer is very good source of energy and keeps your body healthy too. Include a snacks time in your diet chart. Evening snacks should include Fruit juice or Fruit salad. Then the last meal of the day, i.e dinner, should be anything very light so that your body can digest it easily while you are asleep. This can include vegetable salad or vegetable soup. Most people prefer One-Meal-A-Day (OMAD), which sates to eat one full meal a day, where you intake all the calories and don't intake any calories for the rest of the day. This diet is highly recommended by fitness specialists for weight loss. You can make up your own diet chart and include all healthy food which would provide the energy for your body. While making the diet chart keep in mind your breakfast should be heavy which will give you enough energy for the whole day and Dinner should be light so that easily digestible.
3. Inhale Fresh Air:
Daily get some fresh air from your window or may be balcony, if you are blessed with a balcony in your flat. A new research says that, COVID-19 is transmittable by air too. So, avoid going out and try to get fresh air, staying inside your house. Even if you like to take a walk outside and its permitted in your locality, then wear a mask while taking the walk.
4. Take the daily dose of Exercise:
After healthy eating habits come daily pills of exercise. Make a point to give your body at least 30-60 mins each day. Exercise or meditate every day. This can be replaced with Zumba workout too, or any other form of physical work where you allow your body to move. Right now, where your movement is completely confined to your home or desk, this is the most important of all practices to stay healthy and fit. This will help relax your body as well as mind.
5. Keep yourself hydrated.:
Drink at least 5-7 L of water everyday, so that the metabolism is better and your body should not get dehydrated due to less physical activity and more intake of calories. Drinking water has countless benefits for our body. It intoxicates our body as well as help in metabolism. Many researches available all over the internet conclude water is the chief element of the diet.
6. Stay connected:
Thanks to the digital advancement we can now stay connected with all our friends, family and relatives digitally. It's an era of social distancing and digital connecting. Talk to your loved ones daily and stay in touch so that you don't feel isolated or socially detached.
7. Maintain a healthy balance of news:
It is very tempting in this situation to know all the latest updates of COVID-19, but keep a balance of the amount of news you take up every day and don't panic. Stay aware but don't lead this news rule your brain and create a sense of Panic in your mind.
8. Have a digital break:
Now, when your day to day schedule has shifted to digital platforms, make sure to take up a break too. Working continuously in front of the screen of your desktop, laptop or mobile, also leads to many other problems. Take breaks and involve yourself with any other activity to keep your brain up and active. Have the do not disturb mode on for a while, everyday.
9. Improve family time:
It's the best time to strengthen your family bonds, where you can invest quality time with your family. "Family is the tree which will always give you sweet fruits. Remember to water it everyday." Talk to the people at home and don't let stress build up in anyone's mind. Observe your surrounding and provide your support to them who you feel are left behind.
10. Consult a doctor if needed:
This step is of paramount importance. If you feel unwell at any point of time seek medical help immediately, without having any dilemma. You are a responsible adult now, make it a point when it comes to health its non negotiable. If you have mild fever or cough or any symptoms it's your first responsibility to inform the doctors, to keep yourself and the people around you safe. Safety should be your first priority.
I hope this will help you to stay healthy and maintain hygiene in the lockdown. Stay safe. We are all together in the same boat, and we will get ashore safely. Just stay alert and aware.
Nice
